Very well put , I’d say.
If you are now also looking for a 300, and depending on speaker choice, I’d suggest a 300DR, and to budget on a service if it hasn’t been done for well over a decade.

As much as I love my 552 on reflection I prob probably should have stopped at 252/300 - a bit if sweet spot.

In regards to the volume position between the 282 & 252, they will be the same as both pre’s have the same input sensitivity.

For me though the 252 with a SCDR, I found the 252 with a none DR SC boring and preferred my then 82/HC
DR upgrade certainly lets more of the Naim “goodness” flow through!

All good info folks.
I need to sort out my speakers first before any amp upgrades. Then i’ll upgrade the power first see how it goes then the amps last.
In summary, upgrades in this order as and when funds allow:
New speakers
XPSDR for the ndac
Change HCDR for SCDR
252
300DR
I reserve the right to stop upgrading at any point if I feel that i’ve done enough!
If I get to the end then i wont be going any further.
The next step up on all the components will be too costly and i’m not sure i’ll see the benefit.

I did just that from a 202/200. Huge difference.
Moving from CDX2 to NDAC also.
