Upgrade to active speakers

Bi-wiring and passive bi-amplification depend on the electronics, the passive crossover and the speaker cables. With Naim electronics, bi-wiring is not necessary. When it comes to passive bi- or tri-amplification with Naim amplifiers, the possibility of improvement is mainly linked to the design of the passive crossover. I’ve found that with B & W 804,803,802, Linn Isobariks DMS/PMS loudspeakers, passive bi-amplification with nap 250 brings considerable listening benefits. Amplifying high frequencies with a single 250 provides far greater ease of use in all areas, with satisfaction and homogeneity. For Sonus-Faber, we recommend testing with a second nap 180; perhaps a nice surprise for you?
I have a Snaxo 3-6 active crossover optimized for Linn Isobarik PMS, powered by Supercap DR, and it’s fine; however, I get just as much pleasure out of a passive tri-amp with 3 Olive nap 250s.

Thanks Ian,

Hi Alto, how would I utilise the second 180 and is the set up difficult?

Thanks,

Michael
