I’m thinking of doing something a bit different. The Kudos crossover and a second 500DR.
System would be:
NDS+555DR
552DR
2 x 500DR
Kudos 606 Active
That floats my boat!
Don’t rule out the New Classics then. Balanced operation definitely has benefits.

From most of what I’ve read, active is a game changer.
The system seems to lack a Linn LP12,NAT01 and Snaxo
It would defo be a first!
Although I should go the whole hog and get two more layers for my rack:
NDS
2 x 555DR
552DR
2 x 500DR
Kudos Cross Over
By my calcs that’s 10 boxes
I’ll need to order another two shelves. It’s a custom rack but I already had extension legs retro made for my 500DR. I feel like going leftfield on this one. The NDS could always be swapped out for a ND555 later on. Like I’ve said before, big birthday coming up and we only live once…
The classic way of convincing yourself Never happened to me……
So two more narrow shelves, two 500 head units on the bottom shelves. The Kudos unit would spoil the symmetry somewhat
Fantastic @Stu299. 2 x 500DRs will be wonderful. Not what I was expecting you to do! So even better!
Like I say, I feel like doing something different.
I travel a lot with work @Dan_M. Be good to hear your incredible system if I’m passing. I have no idea where you are by the way!
Sound! Otherwise I’d have stuck with the perfect symmetry of the 300 amp.
Me neither
DO IT, DO IT!!!
Two 500 units on the bottom will look AWESOME!
I’m so excited I cannot stop using CAPITALS!!!
Get the ND555. Balances out the current psychological imbalance of NDS being the “odd one out”. It also adds, albeit subjective, sound improvements and gets you to the platform on which Naim have current development.
But, part of the fun is obviously going through all the possible permutations
I’m in East Sussex bud. You are welcome to have a listen. Just contact Richard and we can exchange details.
I’ve emailed the rack builder if he can build me two more shelves. Once the slots are there, they have to be filled right?
@Dan_M I’ll give you a shout when I’m next in the area
