The Mc462 as L and R in DIM and the Nova has just 1 pre amp out so do I need to find L and R DIM cable goes into 1?
What is an Mc462?
McIntosh power amp?
Yes correct McIntosh Mc462
This might seem like a strange question but why would you use a Nova as a pre amp for such an amazing power amp?
From memory it’s a pair of RCA outputs or a DIN?
I have two Nova’s really like them however building a bigger system and want to use the Nova until I am ready to purchase a Pre amp
Yeah I have a nova in one on my set ups. It’s good - I ask coz that amp could be paired with some of really amazing kit. Good to know it’s an upgrade path. Enjoy!
Let us know how it sounds…. What speakers you using?
The simplest way to connect them is with an RCA to RCA phono cable.
I have Kanta 2 and BW 805 D4 I will try both. Interested in the Bi-wiring on the BW’s will have to see if is makes a difference. As well 2 JLF110 subs
You see that’s why I was asking. On here people were nudging me the McIntosh route for my 803d4s - need a bit of driving to the bowers. Although I had the 805s on here before that and they were glorious with a 250 and then a 300.
I keep looking at McIntosh tho.
Ok I have the MC462 using the RCA out. However that is how I was running the JLF110. What would be the best way to hook up the sub now?
If you want to use a low level connection to the sub you should ideally use the RCA out on the Nova and get a DIN plug on the amp cable. Doing it the other way round would still work.
Alternatively use a high level connection to the sub if it has a suitable input.
Thank you I will try that. G
