It almost seems a ‘no-brainer’ if you can’t currently charge EV or use solar to get a battery to use in this way - there would then presumably be an effective upgrade path should solar or EV become feasible. I find it bizarre that this approach isn’t being actively promoted.
Good video and the bit about virtual power plants using domestic battery sources makes so much sense.
My memory is possibly a little sketchy but I saw some publicity about this a few months ago. If I remember correctly, it’s for a BYD which has LFP battery chemistry and so is happy to be run to 100% regularly.
Octopus are offering up to 12,000 miles pa free home charging on the lease and include supply/ installation of a v2g charger (that is currently shown on octopus website)

If Octopus just discharges to Grid during grid events then might not happen much. You need G99 for the Octopus scheme. I will see how the Axle scheme fares as I am stuck with G98 thanks to crappie infrastructure.
