Smithsonian Folkways too have a large collection over the years. I look forward to hearing more of the collection mentioned in the article.

The 1928 recording of Stack o’ Lee blues by Mississippi John Hurt is already widely available. After Nick Cave sang Stagger Lee on Murder Ballads, I spent some hours listening to some of the 500-odd different versions.
