VERTERE Ethernet cable

:large_blue_diamond: Below,.Vertere writes themselves…

The High Quality Ethernet cable is terminated with highest quality RJ45 connectors with our unique internal shielding configuration.

I have some of Vertere’s other cabling…
• USB-cables
• RCA-interconnects
• XLR-interconnects

BUT,.never had the opportunity to listen to their ethernet-cable (see picture).
There is also nothing written here on this forum about Vertere’s ethernet cable,.DESPITE the fact that Vertere are stationed in England.

SO,.now I raise the question, does anyone here have Vertere’s ethernet- cable.
OR,.has had the opportunity to listen to it and can share some impressions.

The manufacturer is unsure which standard it is? That doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence…

No never tried their ethernet wire, but have got VeRum arm cable and it was a significant improvement on their redline and I have another Vertere wire arriving but I can’t talk about that.

Hi :slightly_smiling_face:

I saw that too,.but Touraj Moghaddam (owner of Vertere) is a bit of a guru in the hifi context, and has an extremely good reputation.

And I have,.as I wrote above some of Vertere’s cables that I am extremely happy with.
A friend in Stockholm also has Vertere’s cables throughout his Naim system,.including the speaker cables.

He says it’s the best he’s heard in his system…
Therefore,.I am a little interested in capturing some experiences here regarding their ethernet-cable.

I know Touraj and Mike Burn at Vertere personally and what I can say is they are experts in their field and their attention to detail is second to none.

I noted a while back that Vertere use a UK 13A Permaplug on their £850 Redline power cables.
I rate the Permaplug for their robust and simple design and use them on my double screened IEC cables. However they are far far away from getting an audiophile rating, what audiophile would buy a 13A plug for less than £2 (GBP)

Hi :slightly_smiling_face:

Interesting,.suspected that VeRum was that much better.
I have two Redline USB-cables in my headphone-system (in/out),.in my InnuOs Phoenix USB-reclocker (see picture).

The VeRum series is not available in a USB-version,.so if I want to upgrade a Redline USB-cable, it will be the HB- series…
Then it will be four times more expensive,.for one cable :flushed:, and I need two :disappointed_relieved:.

Hi again :slightly_smiling_face:

Very interesting,.I have mostly been talking to Ash (Ashley).
Got a lot of good information from there.

If you know them so well,.can’t you ask if you can borrow a demo ethernet-cable and try…
Then you report here :grin::sunglasses:.

TBH I’m not too fussed, the streamer was only installed last week and I’m just enjoying the music, the change I’ve got coming next week ( analogue which I can’t talk about but will on FB perhaps) has long been under consideration.

I know he makes an amazing turntable, but networking is something very different. Unfortunately, like the rest of us, he can’t be good at everything.

I think my screenshot above suggests otherwise. Even if, say, their quality is so variable that it can end up being any of these categories, they should also have added 5e and 6A.

Looking at all the web marketing blurb, it looks like its all words and no detail, plus hints of naivety

Re the CAT 5, 6 & 7 … I doubt very much its CAT7 because of the metal RJ45, none that I know of are better than CAT6a.

Then what is “Cable Type: x4 Special Data Pairs” err ???
Its a normal screened twisted pair ethernet cable, just as is all ethernet has to be to be classified as ethernet.

Maybe by the ‘Special’ description they mean they have it made for them, OK but why not say so.
And if they do have it made, a Fluke conformance test would be nice, and more so if tested as a patch cord.

I’m sure its an OK cable and I dare say someone will pop up to say its night & day better than X. Y & Z.
But £2000 for 1.5m of ethernet, YMBJ !!!
Whatever, I’m sticking ……

Hi :slightly_smiling_face:
@n-lot and @Mike-B

I’m going to contact Ash (Ashley) at Vertere and ask about what you’re bringing up…
Better than sitting here and speculating.
I will return regarding this when I have received a reply from Vertere.

A Swedish hifi-friend wrote below to me regarding Vertere’s Ethernet cable…

I have a Vertere lan cable. Bought it 6 years ago. Expensive yes but I am very pleased with. It replaced a Chord Epic. No question that the Vertere is on another level. It’s also better than my Pink Faun Lan cable. I have unfortunately not had the possibility to compare it to other Lan cables in the same price range. I hope someone else has.

Therefore,.it would be incredibly interesting if someone here has listened, and can give some impression regarding Vertere’s Ethernet-cable.

Unfortunately,.we do not receive an official response from Vertere.
They have the following policy…

Hi Peder,

We do not get involved in forums. To become embroiled in everything said on all the forums would be a 24/7 job. Touraj has steered clear of this for many years and this is a wise decision he made.
To make a one comment will open the lid on Pandora’s box.

We answer all product questions directly via info@ as you know.

Best wishes
Ash

I will get an answer on Monday,.this as I promised it will not be published here.

SO,.we have to hope that someone here has, or has listened to Vertere’s ethernet-cable and can give some impression to the rest of us.

Don’t be concerned on my account Peder.
The comments I made in the post were my opinion of the words, style and lack of any detail in the Vertere website in relation to the ethernet cable.
That won’t change.

Instead of providing an official response (I’m not even sure what the question was), they should correct the obviously wrong information. If they’re happy leaving that as-is that should raise some alarm bells IMO.

Or if the quality is so variable it can be either CAT 5, 6 or 7 (but not 5e or 6A apparently), listening experiences will also be meaningless. To the extent they can be relevant anyway to an ethernet cable in a different system/environment.

Hi @n-lot :slightly_smiling_face:

I copied your and @Mike-B 's post about this from this thread,.and asked Ashley (Vertere) to comment on it.

WHICH,.he (Vertere) did not want to contribute with,as previously reported.
This surprises me a bit,.as their ethernet-cable costs £2180 in today’s exchange rate in Sweden.
It’s not exactly “pettycash”.
Otherwise,.I only have very positive experiences with their Interconnects and USB-cables.

My thoughts eactly.
In UK one of the few Verter dealers sells the shortest length of 1.5m at £1,995
But in my setup I need at least 3m from switch to streamer and that would be £2,745.
Like I said before I’ll stick with my MeiCord, I know how its made in detail and how it performs re TIA & ISO stnds… But above all else; it sounds as good if not better than the other ethernet cables I compared it with.

Yup, same here, but with cables from FS dot com:

There’s not much to comment on I think, they should just correct their specs so they make sense.

I reckon I have around 300 metres of ethernet cable cris crossing around my house. Spending 3k on the last 2 metres is insane.
