Rough Trade has just released its Album of the Year list, featuring exclusive vinyl editions from some of the acts included in their top 20.

Of particular interest to community members will be The Smile: Live at the BBC 6 Music Festival. Other exclusives include Laura Marling, Idles, Yard Act, and more. Go to Rough Trade website for further info.

Always seems odd to me when Best of Year lists are published when the year has a way to run. A bit like how the sytem pics thread starts up before the year is out …

For Rough Trade its about sales in the lead up to Xmas as they promote the list within its stores. But agree with your point with regards to the Music monthlies (Mojo and Uncut) who would of probably compiled the list in early October.
