Very much looking forward to this release. It’s been a long time since the last album.
All is good, just feel better soon!

Amanda Whiting - A Christmas Cwtch, First World (2024)
Welsh Harpist Amanda Whiting releases a Christmas album.
‘A Christmas Cwtch’ takes festive tracks from Vince Guaraldi, Bill Evans, Holst and Tchaikovsky, and re-presents them with original arrangements by Amanda and her accomplished trio.
I have just pre ordered the Tracy Chapman Tracy Chapman 2024 reissue Black Vinyl LP. I have no idea who is re mastering or cutting this reissue and were it’s getting made. I am hoping someone is going to take great care of this iconic album. Release 13/12/24 barcode [75596077415]
Bobby Hutcherson - Montara / Blue Note Classic ( Presto £23.50 )
Due for release on 13th Dec 2024
Recorded and released in 1975, Montara is one of the great feel-good jazz albums of the 70s and one of the great Latin jazz records of that decade. Featuring a stellar cast of musicians like Willie Bobo, Blue Mitchell, Bobby Matos, Ernie Watts, Harvey Mason, Plas Johnson, Fred Jackson, Larry Nash, and Chuck Domanico, among others, this album is a masterpiece of the genre and a perfect example of the very special sound of groove jazz that came out of fusion and Latin jazz’s tough salsa rhythms. **** ALLMUSIC.
Really looking forward to this one Debs but only presto is listing it BLue Note Uk doesn’t have it listed.
I originally thought it was getting a Tone Poet reissue next year please let me know if you definitely find it is being released this year as it’s a real favourite of mine.
Listening to my original Elektra copy which is a DMM pressing I believe any improvement on the original would definitely necessitate buying a reissue.
The original Masterdisk cut on Elektra was a great sounding record (in spite of being digital) and any reissue will really be going some to better it, I’d imagine.
Agreed listening to it as I type this excellent sounding record.
I have a few excellent DMM releases and have sung their praises often for one the French Blue Note DMM pressings are very good.
Amazon uk had Montara listed at £29.99 but the listing seems to have vanished!
Hope there isn’t a problem with it if BN no longer has it listed (?)
It’s still showing on Presto
Sorry for the huge delay - as there was no @ I didn’t know I had been mentioned - I’m just a longtime fan and avid follower of the Vooduu People, just to be clear. Paid-up member of Vooduu Nation, lol!
And I’m very glad to hear that @TheKevster is feeling better (I hope!) and has replied to members here.
It’ll be a killer album when it appears, never fear.
Sadly, I couldn’t go to the gig in Camden tonight, but it’ll be a cracker.
Miles Davis — Birth of the Blue, Columbia/Analogue Productions (2025)
I’ve just pre ordered a copy, I do have these on the 50th Anniversary Box Set but only on CD and I don’t own a CD player. I’ve listened to them many times on Tidal and own the RSD 1958 Miles by Waxtime which is Mono mix on DMM but really want to hear them given the correct treatment for a proper vinyl reissue.
The following is taken from the album’s promo.
"Four more songs from the pioneering ensemble that produced Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue!
Modal jazz precursor laid groundwork for future jazz innovation!
Mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab from a new 30 ips quarter-inch stereo master tape transferred from the original 3-track session tapes
Plated and pressed at Quality Record Pressings for flawless production and superior fidelity!
Stoughton Printing Old Style tip-on gatefold heavyweight jacket with scuff-resistant matte finish"

I’ve been on the fence about this but so far I think I’m going to pass.
Good for you.
Hello @steviebee - apologies I thought you were part of the scene! Yes agree with all you said, let’s hope @TheKevster is getting better every day.
Tim
No need to apologise @Timbo!
I’m happy enough being a loyal fan - one of a group of ‘Vooduu Evangelists’ as it were
Very occasionally me and another close friend of the band, the marvellous Dave P, deputise on the merch box if Kev is busy.
Never fails to amuse/annoy me how people say they loved the band/gig but shy at buying a CD, LP or whatever!
Okay dokay - I agree with you the Ese vinyl has been good so far and I also like to buy the download. I really wanted to see her during the London Jazz Fest but couldn’t get down there due to a plethora of medical appointments. I will get some merch for Christmas.
Cheers
Tim
