This should be arriving this coming Monday. What I have heard from it (I have the 2 LP selection edition already) it is pretty good and refreshing to hear something new from Springsteen. The box set is 9 LPs and 7 albums not previously released. Sometimes this can mean questionable material and quality as there is a reason they were not previously released but as I say so far so good.
I am more or less a completest for his stuff since 1973, studio albums only there are just too many live albums covering the same songs. It is expensive I don’t usually spend this much but it will be my birthday present for a few months time.
Anyone who bought the horrendous 20th anniversary reissue a few years back will be hoping for a huge improvement perhaps the VMP Ryan Smith 45rpm stampers could be used as apparently that was a huge improvement.
I’ll give it a try via Amazon as it’s pretty risk free.
I’ve just read tha it is the remaster from 2020 which was also done at Sterling Sound hopefully it was the fault of the pressing plant.
On the subject of Coltrane’s Quartet on Impulse the excellent Crescent is available for £17.85 on both Amazon and eBay the thumbnail is the Acoustic Sounds release and both the EAN and release date of 2022 are the same as the Acoustic Sounds release.
I have though ordered similar listings and have been sent the bog standard Verve reissue so further investigation may be required but if it does turn out to be the AS reissue that price is a steal I paid around £35 on release.
I have ordered these from the Rhino site which are from their High Fidelity series, cut by Kevin Gray. I have read a few good reports about them and I don’t have either of these albums on any format, so hopefully a win-win.
I also ordered this one for the 3rd time. I paid 21 EUR and I am super curious. I had bad luck with the other 2 pieces and had to send it back
