I am suffering the issue with the dial on the Uniti Atom, no respond on dialing and the led does not lit up. I am only able to adjust the volume with the remote.
This bug has been posted before in this forum but I cannot find the solution, is there a solution?
Likely the Atom is like the Nova. If the fault you are experiencing is as described, the likely cause is that the connector between the circular dial (volume control) and the unit has become disconnected.
The best course of action is to approach your local dealer for assistance, assuming you bought the unit from any Naim dealer.
It is something that can be done, but it is tricky and unless realistically you are certain you have the competence to do so, it is likely best avoided. If you open the box, it may jeopardize any warranty or goodwill.
However it is not a bug, by any means, merely a designed connector, not fully engaged in some form.
This is what Superatom wrote in Jan â23 about the problem of Atom volume dial not responding after Bluetooth connection:
I contacted Naim Support and they came back with below reply:
âWe have noticed that there is a small software bug with the Bluetooth and the volume control. If you use Bluetooth, and then switch to another input, the volume (dial only) can sometimes become unresponsive. We are aware of this issue, and the fix for this will be coming in a future update, hopefully not too far away.â
I continue having even today the same annoying problem with Atom: the volume dial doesnât work after Bluetooth connection and subsequent switch to another input. I need to unplug and restart the unit every time. Naim Service said almost two years ago that they should have addressed the issue in future firmware updates. I have been confidently waiting a long time, and I have recently downloaded and installed the latest firmware release for Atom but, no way, the problem is still there. I am afraid Iâll be forced to agree with those saying about Naim ânice case and poor supportâ.
Even after the latest Atom firmware release, it seems that the already known bug causing the volume dial not working after Bluetooth connection is still there.
Possibly, but I donât know for sure. Itâs best not to make assumptions, it may be a different issue entirely. And if it was something that was supposedly fixed in a subsequent firmware release then Naim will want to know if it hasnât done so in your case. I recommend you contact Naim support, if you have not already done so.
