Stage 4: Andorra la Vella - Tarragona (184.6km)

Although a hilly stage, the two 3rd category climbs look easy enough for most sprinters to cope with so today could be an all together sprint finish.

Not so smug 30 metres past the finish line when he crashed into a crowd of onlookers - one poor lady seemed to take the brunt of a full impact and there was mucho blood trickling down Remco’s face from a cut above his right eye. Very strong finish by him, mind!

Peter

The aftermath of his careless crash into a woman some 50 meters after the finish showed him clearly unconcerned for the injuries he may have caused together with a dismay of over-blown self importance.
The incident certainly wiped that smug git face of his smug git blooded face.

Just when we thought the top ten GC was getting settled it all gets blowed apart :firecracker:

Sepp Kuss wins the stage in fabulous style but Jumbo-Visma didn’t have it all their own way, Vingegaard and Roglič both drop from the top ten GC, and the Jumbos lose Team Classification to Bahrain-Victorious.

An inexplicable off-day for Remco, speculation he maybe feeling out of sorts after one of his team, Bagioli abandons the race.

Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ) at 20 years old and the youngest competitor in this tour will wear the Red Jersey tomorrow, he is also quite possibly the very lightest weighing in at 52kg (and 1.68m tall). Martinez also by default wins the white jersey too, which presumably will be loaned out to Youth Classification 2nd place, Remco Evenepoel tomorrow.

Stage 8 : Dénia - Xorret de Catí. Costa Blanca Interior (165km)

Eduardo Sepulveda is the very first Argentinian to lead a grand tour classification, and today he will get another chance to extend his lead in the KOM.
Meanwhile, a tricky little climb lies in wait near the finish, only a couple of kilometres but with 15%+ gradients.

:hospital: Thymen Arensman (Ineos Grenadiers) shared an update on his condition on social media after the crash that took him out of the race yesterday: “It was quite scary, because I can’t remember anything almost for 3 or 4 hours. I think I’m super lucky because I didn’t break anything. I miss a tooth, my neck hurts and I have stitches in my eyes. It hurts my whole body, but I think I am super lucky. If I wasn’t wearing a helmet, I don’t know if I would be still here.”

Primož Roglič wins his 20th Grand Tour stage and regains a top ten GC position.

The red jersey rider Lenny Martinez loses touch with the leading GC tussle in the remaining few kilometres finishing 13th at 1:10 down and dropping to 3rd place on GC so relinquishing his red jersey to new GC leader Sepp Kuss, however Martinez still leads the Youth classification so will swop the red for the white jersey.

Remco Evenepoel just missing out on the stage win today, however he moves up to 2nd in the KOM perhaps not intentional on his part, plus he could gain the polka dot jersey in tomorrow’s mountainous stage, for past few days he has been sporting his Belgium national jersey.
