Love the “Save The Elephants” on the door. You’d think they’d be more grateful
You would think so , this was two big males elephants fighting , General Rommel and Abraham Lincoln
When the next Save The Elephants Land Cruiser arrived they thought their colleagues were dead .
I was once in a Land Rover that encountered a single male buffalo in Tsavo , up until then I never really believed the stories about them, I did afterwards
I’m often tempted by a LWB 7 series or S class diesel of around the same vintage. Even an A8. They are a lot of car for the money and mpg wise that figure is impressive. I used to travel a lot to the NL and Luxembourg and have on occasion been ‘treated’ to 225kph commutes in their airport limos despite local limits.
LWB is a bit too much for the average UK car park…The “issue” now with the F01 diesels is they are Euro 5 with only a few exceptions. The 4.4L V8 is potentially troublesome.
I much prefer the F01 looks and interior-wise to the G series, and the mechanic that looks after my F01 prefers the F to the G series.
If I was going for LWB cruiser, I would be looking towards an A8 3.0 Sport Executives as quite a few of these are Euro 6.
Heavens - that’s a beast of an engine with a bike attached to it
It’s so much fun to ride…168bhp and 221nm of torque, weight is about 300kg but it’s remarkably nimble and easy to ride as the centre of gravity is really low down. It’s the best bike I’ve ever owned.
Think we’re a great idea for just running around town.
Just perfect for the congested, narrow streets of London Town, not to mention parking.
Agreed totally useless anywhere else.
Actually quite nifty, although a bit shaky doing 70mph on a motorway.
Oh that Morgan just looks like sheer heaven PJ!!!
I have come close a couple of times to buying one but stuck with my TVR Griffith. Both an extraordinary experience though on the right road on the right day with the right girl beside you!!

Considering getting one of these to replace my wife’s Volvo C40. A bit fed up of the Volvo’s inefficiency (it’s worse than my iX which is way larger). May get another c40 cos it suits her back (v important) but she is opposed to getting a new car. Anyway - will have a test drive in a couple of weeks
Kia EV3 is going to be really hard to beat in its class. Under the skin, it’s a generation or 2 ahead of Volvo’s Powertrain technology, as the efficiency figures will show.
If you do get one, I would be very interested to learn of your experiences, both good & bad.
Best regards, BF
I dare say I will post something
Think his right the KIA EV3 and 9’s are getting great reviews here. There’s also a 5 on the way as well.
Not sure when the 5 is coming here. We tried my wife sitting in the ev3 and ev6 in the showroom and both were fine for her back with the seats jacked up. So a used EV6 or new EV3 would be ok but need to have memory electric seats as we have very different driving positions. So that’s the most expensive EV3 then…
I am inclined to get the top EV3 (in the favourite colour of pale green) with heat pump with my company paying for it and then when I retire we can buy from the company. But my wife wants to buy something cheaper used and then swap in a couple of years when we can get a used one
Anyway - test drives first I think - if the local dealer is up to arranging it. I gave up on the EV6 as they failed to respond to three different requests by three different means for a test drive at launch. They seem to be stuck in the past with little idea of well anything
Interesting on the test drive.
I now drive a hybrid, but previously was looking at an all electric car.
Went to VW to look at an id4.
They gave me the car for an entire weekend, to see if I liked it.
Sadly this showed up a number of issues and I did not buy it, but good principle of having the car for a week and to get to know it. Rather than a quick drive for 10 mins.
