Eric Clapton - “There’s One In Every Crowd”
Jethro Tull Heavy Horses (Steve Wilson Remix)
Franz Schubert, Arpeggione & Lieder. Antoine Tasmetit, viola - Markus Hadulla, piano - Sandrine Piau, soprano. Naïve CD.
Interesting album. Schubert’s arpeggione sonata (D821) played by a viola instead of a violin, 6 lieder transcribed for the viola, and 2 lieder sung by Sandrine Piau. We don’t get to hear violas as solo instruments very often, and the result is most interesting. Of course, it helps that Tamestit’s superior technique allows him to fully exploit the possibilities of his instrument.
SQ is typical Naïve - rich and detailed, with just the right amount of reverb. Maybe a little too closely miked for my preference, though.
