Had very little time to listen to anything last few days but have an hour or so while visiting friends are out sightseeing with Mrs Pete. For no reason other than curiosity saw this in new releases and thought I’d have a quick listen then turn it off after one track (or just flick through them). Bit of a surprise while I’m not sure I’d buy it or play it too often I haven’t turned it off - yet.
Quincy Jones - Talkin’ Verve, part of a series of albums, featuring artists responsible for recording what became known as jazzy lounge music. Here, Jones leads a stellar set of musicians through some of the better known popular tunes of the '60’s. Groovy baby!
Eva Cassidy, live at blues alley. Haven’t listened to this for a long time and feel like giving it a spin to see if it is as awful as @TheKevster said. Promise I won’t be playing Adele.
I love Caravan! Fortunately I’d say this is better than Paradise Filter, their last studio output. This one, although comprising ten songs, so no whole side epics (sadly), sounds more like Caravan used to, although Pye’s voice isn’t quite as soft as before.
