I’ll give a spin as soon as my house full of grandkids go home on Sunday
I recall seeing it at the pictures as a kid, a supporting picture in the days when you got two films, no dialogue or anything just film of surfers going through tunnels of water etc with the Meddle album as soundtrack.
Or my memories faulty

You got it spot on … … … I saw it at a cinema in Glasgow, which usually had an all-day 2 hour endless loop of Warner Brothers cartoons, aimed at adults rather than kids.
They just spliced Crystal Voyager into the cartoons … … … and I seem to remember a heavy, sweet, smoky atmosphere in the cinema. 
(The cartoons were never funnier than during that visit).

Great memories, I remember now the scenes as described above with the surfer going through amazing tunnels of water soundtracked to Echoes from Meddle, I wonder if the film is still available
