Some good jazz amid the garbage at the Oxfam shop today. Brought this home to check condition and value - Stan Tracey With Love From Jazz on Columbia vinyl. A lovely 1967 set with his ole buddy Bobby Wellins on Tenor and Dave Green on bass.
Augustus Pablo - Skanking Easy.
More dub goodness on this double CD set, which just goes to show that you can never have too much Augustus Pablo.
Saddened to hear of the loss of another JA artist, so many have passed in the last couple of years.
Ernest Wilson founder member of The Clarendonians, a great voice since the Sixties at Studio One.
My favourite though is the song I Know Myself which he recorded in the 70’s at Channel One, an essential selection that can be found on any worthy anthology of Channel One during this period and a tune that still raises the hairs…
