Much better
It was on Channel 82 last night,
i was a bit shocked to see the appearance of Arthur Daley!
Keane - Under the Iron Sea - 2006
I quite often give this one an outing. Sure it’s pop, but tracks like ‘The Iron Sea’ instrumental alude to much grander things, that’s why I like it so much.
INXS Shabooh Shoobah
I’m with you on that Simon. but always thought they were a tad ‘mechanical’ anyway.
Still, when the mighty Edge arrived on stage with them at Glastonbury 2010, well, it was a moment
Genesis - Nursery Cryme - Tidal 16/44
Not quite the heights of their greatest albums, but a very fine prog-rock album, some great songs and some very good songs, superbly performed.
Always had a soft spot for Dar Williams since Mortal City and Honesty Room.
A lot more ‘arranged’ on this 2013 album with a full band, plus the great Suzzy Roche guests on one track (sadly only as background harmony) and Suzzy’s daughter (I think) Lucy.
Dar Williams Emerald.
I prefer Dar with sparser accompaniament, a guitar, piano etc, but this is still quite lovely. New York Is A Harbor is gorgeous…
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut - 1983
Seen this up a few times recently, but I rarely play it. Bought this copy the year it came out and still feel the same nearly 40 years on, a kind of Waters catharsis played out in front of other great band members. Oh dear.
