Ha! funny - reviews compare her to Joni Mitchell but I was thinking more Grace Slick.
Just finishing…

Streaming on Qobuz (96/24)… moved on this morning with an album from the earlier 90’s that I used to give a lot air time back them, just another trip down memory lane. …and Dave and his talented group of musicians are sounding mighty sweet!
That is some list. I wonder who footed the bill for their time. Dave is probably still paying the bill off.
Just seen the album sold over 500,000 so maybe not.
Playing this after hearing the wonderful ‘Three and Six’ played by Johnny Hodges today on R3’s Composer of the Week about Billy Strayhorn
I think the sound quality especially on the Hi Res release is very good but I still revert to my old archived DVD copy for the full experience.
I have hinted for the new Blu Ray release, so will see what a birthday or Christmas will bring.
Hi @shaunio, the new blu-ray release is a massive improvement on the old bootleg dvd’s. The picture now resembles that of an official broadcast, not that of a poor vhs copy. Highly recommended. Just for info the dvd on the right is the performance of an earlier night ( 7th ) if you wish to track it down.
From 1979, this is a disappointingly bland, even soppy, album from Bill – especially when one considers the stellar quality of the albums which preceded it.
Bland maybe, but you’ve gotta love the stellar leisure wear.
Now playing…
Regina Spector - Home, before and after
Streaming on Qobuz (48/24)… a random pick from the new release section on Qobuz and I am enjoying the opening couple of tracks and looking forward to the rest of the album.
