Thanks, will give that a listen.
Isn’t he joined by Albert Lee on the title track?
Mary Halvorson - Amaryllis & Belladonna
I’ve been playing these albums on Qobuz following the recommendation of @TheKevster, above. I’m not sure about best guitarist of her generation, but these albums are both a MUST LISTEN. Weird indeed, but totally compelling. Check them out!
Not a good look!!!
Lee has a writing credit on the title cut. He doesn’t appear listed on the inner sleeve credits as a player (which lists players on each cut)…although sometimes players appear anonymously (or under pseudonyms) so as not to run afoul of contractual obligations, so you may be correct.
He mentions in his little preamble that Albert helped write the song but that he “didn’t get to play on my cut” - not sure if he’s talking about the album.
Great clip. Albert’s 3-pickup modified Tele is uber cool too.
Yes, Albert wrote it with Tony Colton and Ray Smith, all of Heads, Hands and Feet. The original version is on their eponymous album. I first heard it when he was in Clapton’s band. Check out the original, which I think is probably the best, although there’s a great version I’ve seen when Albert played it with Emmylou when Albert was in the Hot Band.
Very cool - I will try to find it! Thanks, Clive.
Continuing the prog journey with this…
When I think of prog this is what I envisaged but there are many sides to progressive music as I am discovering
Egg - Egg
Deffo the best version out there … … … or is it the one from the mono boxset?
