CD gave us great box sets at great prices I think. Just CD1 tonight but the box set is an absolute joy from start to finish and perfectly captures the essence of a great band. Maybe I’m Amazed is one of those ‘name me a cover version better than the original’ songs. Rod’s entry after the first verse reminds me of Cash’s entry on Dylan’s Girl From The North Country. Small Faces, Faces, early Rod made great, enduring music. CD rip.

Ezra Collective. What a worthy Mercury Music Prize winner. My daughter bought me my copy last Christmas. Great album & a refreshing result (suspect being London based helped). Headphones before bed.

I got reminded that the title of the thread included the word why yesterday.

In light of that criticism the why I’m playing this that I wanted to play something sunny as I’ve had a stressful but productive 2 weeks. Lou Reed isn’t someone you’d think of but his New Sensations album his probably his most sunniest album. It’s also helps that my wife’s name is Suzanne.

Taking @dav301’s tip and starting the day with a little Gondwana Records goodness.

Not a band I’d heard of till early this week, The Coral Sea of Mirrors

Followed up with Genesis - Genesis
I don’t remember the last time I listened to this album.
It’s better than I remember it being. It’s a bit more main stream, but still a decent album.

Just for the record, we are absolutely loving our new MuSo 2 bedroom system😊

If you like it Pete then I can really recommend Coral Island (very Australian!) which is my favourite album of theirs

I played an earlier album and really enjoyed it, and I’m loving the new album.

The component parts of The Coral are well worth checking out.

James Skelly and the brilliant Bill Ryder-Smith

By the way a nice ‘why’ on Lou Reed.

It’s easy to forget how talented these guys are, so time for a refresher.

Jonathan Wilson - Eat the Worm

He is one of those artists I would just buy sight unheard - you just know it’s going to be a great album.

A few quirky lo-fi tracks but on the whole another gem.

Sorting out my CDs. No idea when I bought this, or why I have two unopened copies, but it’s very lovely.

Moved down to the Audio Cave now that the handful of morning chores are done.
Playing my new Neil Young - Chrome Dreams CD. Very soothing, in an ‘Angst Driven’ kind of way…

Reworking of some Caravan classics. Most refreshing!
