Had listened and loved a subset of the a loooong time ago (over 40 years). Never the whole thing. Superb. Good test of timbre accuracy to boot.
Looks interesting and purchased (on CD)….
This is Jessica Williams’s Blue Abstraction Prepared Piano Project 1985-87. It would be interesting to know whether Nils Frahm was influenced by this. I’m sure it’s not for everyone but I really like it. It’s on Qobuz.
Pirates, Rickie Lee Jones.. I’m planning to see her play in Manchester in May. I bought tickets solely on the strength of the Rickie Lee Jones album, which I love. To train for the concert I’m checking out some of her other albums. This is a cracker..
Great Album… my favourite is probably their live album from the Bataclan in Paris.. This album brings back fond memories of a school French trip when it was constantly played on cassette, probably the same year it was released in ‘79
Good to see Horslips getting a mention, I first heard the Warm Sweet Breath of Love as a single, then bought the Book of Invasions which was excellent. This was followed by Happy to meet Sorry to Part ,a lovely mix of Irish tunes and rock. Then the Tain and I bought most of their output ,even an album under the name Host, I think for an Irish television program. Although their output went off at the end when they tried to be a straight rock band I think they made some lovely stuff. Mark
Mine too.
Hadn’t realised she’d released a new one, thank you.
Looks like the cover is by Chris Gollon whi did the artwork for her ‘Naked Music’ release that, if you haven’t heard, is stunning ![]()
