Jessica Laurie Ensemble - Shop Of Wild Dreams - Uniti Core. Multi instrumentalist hardly does justice to Laurie who plays flute, tenor & alto sax, accordion, baritone ukulele & sings a bit. A rewarding album.

In Our Time on BBC R4 FM. My first with Misha Glenny. I notice that Simon Tillotson is still the producer, as in Melvin Bragg’s era.

This week’s subject, the Mariana Trench.

Engineering, geology, biology, chemistry, seamanship and oceanography are used in these dives of discovery.

Findable on Sounds for UK residents.

Next week: the Gladiators’ Arena.
