Having massive withdrawal symptoms for a hot Thai curry.
So whipped up a poached duck breast in star anise jus.
Red Thai curry with lychees. Lots of hot chilli.
Topped with coriander, Thai basil and spring garlic grass and lime juice.
Scratch cooking…….the best👍

Reminds me of Labskaus.
Bubble and Squeak made from yesterday’s roast spuds, red cabbage, carrots and roast pork. Fried egg on top and lashings of HP sauce. Heaven
My trademark king prawn in coriander and white wine sauce plus linguini in prep, to be followed by blackberry and apple pie (bought) and custard.

My first attempt at a sourdough started rye bread. Will have some buttered for my chicken and lentil soup later.
Funny, we call it maatjesharing down here in the lowlands.
Just gave a generous pour of double cream to this curry which I’m hoping will mitigate the cavalier use of chillies earlier in the evening.
A brief aside - I was in Hanoi last week and had a (business) dinner at this superb restaurant. The delicious soup, however, contained the hottest chilli I’ve ever eaten thereby forcing me to consume multiple quantities of rice and beer between the hiccups. Tonight will be a breeze.
