What are you preparing for dinner tonight?

It’s going to be one (ok probably both of these)"

Tesco (left) £35.75/kg. Waitrose (right) £58/kg.

£25.74 vs £50.69

Have to say the Tesco one smells a bit iffy/strong but sometimes they do

Expensive either way but not compared to eating out…

They could be aged (the smelly one) but I’d happily chomp on both. Enjoy.

How’s that for a Xmas sandwich? Pigs-in-blankets and turkey on stuffing and brussel sprout slaw. Lubricated by mayo and cranberry sauce. Coming out on a long Boxing Day walk

Wow, that should fill you up.

After an OD of meat at Xmas I try to up the veggie meals in Jan. This is an Ottolenghi recipe from the Guardian. Chick peas braised with carrots. Being Ottolenghi there are lots of ingredients. Chick peas also braised with dates, onion, garlic, cinnamon, cumin, green chilli, coriander, bay leaves, tomato puree, lemon juice. Final plates topped with feta marinated in EVOO, toasted caraway seeds, lemon zest and parsley. Absolutely delicious. Served with brown pitta breads

Lovely - where’s the recipe from?

Gruniad Feast, Saturday 11th January 2025, Word of warning, prep the celeriac first and leave it in the hot water while doing the fennel.. was abit ‘crunchy’ so needs more time to soften.

Will do

Was published as ‘celeriac and beetroot gratin with goats cheese’

A PVB (pork, veal and beef) meatloaf. An extra flavor is provided by the freezing temperatures (15 F, feels like 1F with the wind) outside.

Just spent the last 3 hours prepping up mango salsa.
Then some minced turkey thighs. Grated Courgette. Ginger. Mint. Roasted cumin. etc.

All for a fancy Sunday funday burger.,

Sounds nice - healthy too.

3 hrs prep for a mango salsa - what’s in it?

Maybe a couple of pints, one to fortify themselves during the walk to the shop to get the mangos and the other to celebrate on the way back home?:wink:
