Sometimes the classics are just perfect - Youngs Ornerry in an old skool Smithfield boozer pre Barbican gig.
Lovely pint of Plum Porter followed by an excellent Wadworth’s Old Timer at the Engineers Arms in Henlow, Bedfordshire…
What a fantastic line-up!
The Havelock, Nairn, tonight. The Timothy Taylor/Northern Monk collaborative Unity Stout was an absolute belter - the first time it’s been seen this far north. I probably had one more than was necessary (but it was so worth it!)
There’s a couple not in photo as well - Timmy Taylor’s Landlord and Langton Brewery Inclined Plane!
That’s due on in the Engineers Arms soon!
Recently had the Northern Rising from the same Taylor/Monk stable. Deffo worth looking out for. Hopefully it’s still on at our pre/post football boozer tomorrow.
Flötzinger Weihnachtsbier Export 5.5% very refreshing with a clean taste. Grabbed the last three bottles of the current stock. Brautradition aus Rosenheim seit 1543.
Pub,or Cafe looks very nice!
Can’t go wrong with la Choufe
St. Feuillien - Cuvée de Noël
Festively good, wonderfully balanced, and leaning towards the sweet side.
I definitely deserved this, after hooking up my equipment today using incredibly stiff and stubborn power cables. Installing NAC A5 is like handling a piece of string compared to that.
So which one will I have? Obviously it is both of them. The Spanish brewed San Miguel is stronger than the UK version at 5.4% and maybe a bit dryer.
The Dorada at 5.7% is really nice imho.
Gösser Bock
Nothing particularly special—this is something you can find in any supermarket here. Still, I consider bock beer to be the supreme discipline. And in this case, it’s been executed exceptionally well.
