On Wednesday evening, these went down very well after two long, hot days in the mountains.
And last night, the official opening of The Bandstand’s beer and music festival here in Nairn.
Cheers,
Ian

The Bandstand Real Ale festival is going very well. All the beers this year are from north of Perth (Scotland, not Australia). The Vienna Ale matched its description to a tee.
Dubh Mor (far left) from River Leven has been a firm favourite so far.
Fresh on today, the Cafe Racer Coffee Porter (Fierce Brewing) has gone down a storm, though at 6.5 abv, it commands restraint. Fyne Ales excellent Nonsense bitter was also very quaffable.
Next door, The Havelock also had an excellent selection. Fyne Ales Driftwood, Adnams Golden Gull and Titanic Plum Porter were all in superb form. Sophie and Keirra thought so, too!
Cheers,
Ian
Yesterday’s favourite festival ale and another I’d not had before. Stunning malt, fruity but not too sweet and the alcohol was barely noticeable.
At 6.8% I limited myself to a half and kept it for last.
Cheers,
Ian
Tonight’s excellent post beer festival selection at The Bandstand, Nairn. Goldfish, Wilderness and the Black Isle Scotch Ale, were all superb.

On at The Bandstand, Nairn. The dark Ardgour was superb and the rarely brewed (at least for cask) Duke is a nigh on perfect, classic IPA.

Bridge, Lichfield. Didn’t rate Tackle School - slight smokey edge but liked Salopian’s Hop Twister (out of shot).
Afternoon out in Manchester. First up was the Oxford Road Tap and the Tim Taylor’s Golden Best extremely well kept
Not much choice in the Lass O’Gowrie but the Port Street Beer House never disappoints. Yorkshire stout very palatable
