What releases are you looking forward to

My ears are not impressed of these different versions. I like his original album, but this one I will not buy.

Bart, Do you mean the Bob Dylan or the Vikingur Olafsson?

Vikingur

Ah, yes, I agree. I was moved by the first track, like a toy piano? But the following tracks did not really seem to be doing anything as interesting as those on Part 1.

Perhaps you should have mentioned your misgivings in the first post? Posts are most useful if people mention why the albums are good or bad.

Steven Osborne, Late Piano Sonatas, Beethoven.

Steven Osborne is a superb pianist and his earlier Beethoven sonata recordings are well worth hearing - treasured in my collection! I await the release of this latest impatiently!

Ian Dury & the Blockheads - Do It Yourself. Released 14 June 2019.

I’ve not been enticed by many of the recent box set reissues, but this one looks tempting. Pressed from the original master tapes too…

40th anniversary super deluxe is a four-disc LP+2CD+DVD set and sees the original album pressed on magnolia coloured vinyl, freshly cut from the original master tapes. The two CDs and DVD containing the album, all of the singles, B-Sides, demos, videos, and a live concert recorded in Belfast, in February 1979. Plus, 34 different front cover sleeves, originally designed by Barney Bubbles (based around various samples of Crown wallpaper) are included on 17 large art cards. These can be switched around and slide into a special die-cut. This set also comes with a 12-page booklet with input from Phill Jupitus and Kosmo Vinyl.
