As a child, banana and Fry’s chocolate spread.
My uncle’s Boxing Day breakfast special was fried Christmas cake sandwich.

Home made fermented butter, spread on slices of wholemeal bread with sliced tomatoes in between. Heaven.
But I’m also partial to a chip butty and a bacon sandwich (unsmoked bacon and brown bread).

Plenty of butter
Slices of Pastrami
Few good squirts of Primula cheese
Sliced tomatoes
Bit of iceberg shredded lettuce

Whenever I was in NY, I’d make a pilgrimage to Katz’s for a Pastrami on Rye with a side order of pickles. Nothing better and could feed a family of four comfortably

New one on me the other day - play on Coronation Chicken - Coronation Chick Pea. Chick Peas in coronation style mayo thickened with crushed chick peas with rocket and smooth mango chutney. I’ve now copied this and made my own version twice - a good sign. DGP
