Yes give it a while - ang on who am I to talk - system just gets settled and I keep changing it - just can’t say no to a bargain!
It I tried that my wife would be instantly suspicious!
Yes she’ll be suspicious- but when she notices it - it will become the bargain of the century and I couldn’t turn it down
Curiosity got the better of me as well. My WH Phantoms and jumpers just arrived today in Australia ordered 15 Feb 2022.
The Phantom cables look lovely. And six weeks to ship to Australia is not too bad.
Ordered my 2x5m Phantom on March 2nd. Hope they get shipped shortly
Harry had one a few years ago, I brought a cherry one home for a demo. Found it didn’t do much for my setup and I sent it back.
Chord Sarum T loudspeaker cables. Quite expensive, but musically transformational compared to my previous Kudos KS-1 cables. The scale of the improvement has blown me away.
I ordered some jumpers on 16 Feb and there is no sign of them yet. They look very smart.
So, just installed the WH Phantoms. 2x6m replacing 2x4m of NACA5.
First impressions are that they are an improvement. Like many others on here the SQ improvement isn’t major, but so far I would say the following.
Better soundstage is without doubt, general minor improvement in detail and bass is a little better defined. I’ve yet to give them a proper work out and no doubt they will need some time to bed in, but out the box, i’m very pleased.
Oh, and they were vary easy to install around some tricky corners.
Overall a big thumbs up!
What’s the price for the phantom jumpers? You order by sending them an email?
I went over to the UK for the first time in two years to see my new Grandchildren, one two weeks and the other one year old.
I returned with some small updates.
They cost £80 and yes, you order by email they send you an invoice.
If it’s your intention to use the Aavik Stream app be prepared for some compromises … understand that I have only been using it for about a week now but, fair to say, I still prefer the Naim app … I’ll warm up to it …
Olive 250 finally. Will be going to Class A along with the 72 and HiCap for service before I install in the rack.
No picture just yet, heck, it’s just a record cleaner, but I bought one of the Humminguru ultrasonic cleaners the other week.
Very happy with it so far. Really easy to use. I like how I don’t need to immerse my records in chemicals. Everything I’ve run through it so far, including records previously cleaned with a manual Knosti, have benefited and exhibit less noise.
One record must be a little on the small side and refused to turn without a bit of pressure applied to the edge. The drying cycle does what it says on the tin
It’s really nicely made too, the plastics used are decent enough, and the spares should see it maintainable (for consumer replaceable items) for ages.
It replaced a Knosti. Tempted though I was by Project or similar vacuum based machine, it was the ability to use simple distilled water in the first instance that swung it for me.
Remove the drain filter thing at the bottom. I have a few lps that will not spin with it in. Its a fairly course strainer intended to protect the pump from lumps of vinyl.
Very interesting. I’m looking into record cleaners and just checked out the Humminguru website as a result. Any downsides?
