Well, it’s a great deal and looks like an amazing set up for you. I went for SA12 in black as everything else is black, but thought the champagne finish would have looked good too!
Exciting times!

Hi Naimophile,
The Klimax is very good, thanks. My end game streamer which I’m sure I’ll be able to keep for a long time due to its upgradability. It’s beautifully built and engineered, sounds sublime and no dodgy firmware issues…
It works very nicely with the NC350 amps, connected together by the superb, and not silly priced, AV Options SIGNAL cables. Paired with my Kudos Titans, I would say it’s more forward than laid back. A very enjoyable combination that I get a lot of pleasure from. My only slight issues are the 350s can hum at times, but that’s more of a fault of my local mains supply rather than the amps themselves.
My curiosity has been piqued regarding active speakers so I’m planning to look at the ATC and PMC options in the new year.
Saying that, I’ve got one spare rack shelf, the Titans work well in my room and the new Kudos Sigao crossover looks very interesting. I rather liked the NC250 I had before the NC350s so active Titans with a pair of NC250s might be an option
My audiodesigner is here to install a room correction software from IK Multimedia called ARC 4. A plugin $150 per user.
We measure both the speakers and the room with a total of 96 sweeps.
Hi James thank you for your reply , Great that another good owner has a great review of the klimax , yes I am shortlisting both the klimax / rosinni . As my room are pretty small , so I am still figuring out how to upgrade my source for a not so forward presentation . Difficult task . For now I had tweaked my system to a rather “far” presentation given the limitations of my room sz. I actually like the klimax presentation, and also the rosinni apex. Hopefully I will be able to maintain the current presentation w any of the above upgrades .
Don’t know, if it’s needed, my dealer solves that problem.
A nice choice to have. The DCS kit is superb so good luck with your auditioning. You can’t really go wrong with either approach and I’m sure you’ll have fun demoing the various options to find out what works best for you and your room
Two-three hours in. Much better sound now. It was way too bass heavy. More snappy sound.
The green line is how it was. The orange line is how it is now. The dip around 3kHz can we not do something about.
Has your room treatment specialist saw that ?
It’s a no no no.
Nice room and system, despite this no no.
I dont understand.
Please elaborate.
The stuff on top of the oven?
I too have the SuperDrive to put things on my pc. When I got my pc early this year I forgot about the drivers and had to go hunting again really wish it had a longer lead but lots of the other cd drives I’ve seen are the same.
Nice mudguards.
Wood?
A pair of rare GEC KT88 Single Top Getter power tubes from May 1958. NOS in original box and packing. Sounding incredible even when compared to a pair of 1961 Triple Getter GEC KT88. They were made for a approx 2 years before they were replaced by the triple getter.
Plus, a lightly used Metal Base GZ34 RS1 from 1955 testing strong and balanced. In great condition.
A CD555 in mint condition, newish laser, for 20 cents on the dollar. Sounds great!
Can you elaborate on what was changed?
Much tighter bass. It was too much. So when I played louder the construction in the apartment building made noise. 4x15 and 4x12 can vibrate a lot… We also cut the bass gradually from 40Hz at my wish. When we move into a house we can let the speakers play with full output down to 20Hz. But in this situation, I guess my neighbours do not like it.
We also lifted the midrange so it sound more natural. Its not perfect, but a lot better.
I see, so these are all DSP changes rather than room treatment changes
Yes. I can not do anything with the room except make a large acoustic raft under the roof. And I do not want that because this is a living room, not a listening room. We are moving into a house hopefully next year.
I get many SACD’s from CDJapan. Some titles from Blue Note with recent Kevin Grey mastering have just started to be released. The Verve/Acoustic Sounds series is also very good. I order 10 or 14 at a time to make the shipping reasonable. I think the shipping increases in 4 disc increments.
The new D3 … very controlled!! Good soundstage and good low … not to intimidating , compare to old D2
