What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2025?

A new Qb 2. Should be here tomorrow.

Get 'em while they last.

I have a Mu-so 2 and a Qb2. The latter has been perfect for the warmer months when our deck is open. We spend an awful lot of time out there and use the Qb2 for music (the neighbors walking their dogs by the yard say they love our taste in jazz). It doesn’t get much use otherwise, but we plan to take it on road trips in the future.

Absolutely. I’ve managed to get one at the recent promotion price with an extra grille included. I wasn’t really in the market for one but at the price I couldn’t resist. We’ve recently had our kitchen refurbed and it’ll replace an old Ruark unit.

Just taken delivery of a Tangerine Audio Revolver replacement outer platter for my LP12, it looks bloody lovely and has taken performance to another level. Alongside that, I also replaced my Collaro Mat with a Vinyl Passion Serene Mat which is also a worthy upgrade IMHO.

I know it is going a bit off topic; but I agree with this. If you want the best WIFI speeds you need to connect you mesh nodes via ethernet backhaul. If you use wireless fronthaul, which most systems do, you use a massive proportion of the available WIFI spectrum for the nodes to connect to eachother. I found a really good website called ‘Dong knows tech’. Strange name I know, but he is an expert and really knows what he is talking about. He also gives really good impartial advice and does honest reviews. I have a 1Gb broadband connection and with his advice have registered WIFi speeds of over 900 Mbps!

Edit: if you cannot use ethernet backhaul, the best advice is to arrange your mesh nodes in a star shaped format. Most people daisy chain them in a straight line, which I used to do. The objective is to try and extend the range; but all you end up doing is constantly degrading the signal node to node.

CI-NAP 108 for our AV system

True, but it works very well in my Netgear Orbi, all the traffic from my roon to the endpoint traverses it across floors, while others are watching TV and using the Internet. I never miss a bit.

The last hifi spend for me was Feb 2023 so have rediscovered that terrible itch… thanks Forum!

Anyway - I have bought a rebuilt Troika done by David Giffin. It’s got no hours on it so I am literally on the second track. It has replaced my Krystal
Early observations are a wider soundstage and more “attack”. Need to run it in a bit and may need to fiddle with the VTA
It also looks absolutely amazing and call me shallow - but the spend is justified on the looks alone !!

Temporary position whist making sure I haven’t ballsed up setting it up before I move it to the cabin system.

First impressions are just being impressed with the engineering standard and heft of the deck, also the clarity and thoughtfulness of the instructions.

Just took delivery of my new ProAcResponse D30s, having to do lots of listening to get them run in😉. (Wood friendly feet on the way)

Try a set of isoAcoustics Gaia. They are great for wood floors. Seriously. I did that for my C2s and never looked back.

Congratulations!

Looking at your profile I had pretty much the same configuration as you when I got my pair. I had a NDX 2 > HiCapDR > SN 2 > ProAC D30R. They sounded fantastic with the SN 2 and work fantastic with my current configuration.

So you have room to grow if you want as time goes by and the speakers will already be in place.

I’ve got a set of Soundcare Superspikes on order. They also get good reviews and are 25% of the cost of Gaias. We shall see!

I had a well used demo pair on loan from my dealer over Christmas after making my decision so I know what they will sound like when fully “broken in”. I didn’t think my very old Spendors were bad, but the ProAcs are a revelation, in all senses! Very happy.
