What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2026?

Sold another cable. Bought another jazz guitar. Same cost. Makes you wonder..

Doesn’t it? I was surprised when I bought a brand new Kawai K300 upright piano - it’s the same cost as a bare NSS 333… Our hobby isn’t cheap!

Thanks. That looks like a great spec for the price. I’ll have to keep a look out for one to try.

Instruments lend a bit more class to a room than hifi. Even more if people play them.

We’re currently looking to add a Celtic Harp zone to the living room near the piano. But they don’t look as interesting as that guitar.

Some local dealer and entusiast is selling his pair of TAD4003 compression drivers plus horns in unfinished mdf for NOK160000. ( £12000 ).

A bit too much for my wallet. After a few hours talk with som other enthusiasts with these drivers, I ended up buying a pair of TAD 4002 at a quarter of the price of the other.
4002 has a neodymium magnet where 4001 has an alnico magnet. Sonically they should be identical.

TAD 4003 work from 600Hz and all the way up. With 4002 I need more drivers.

Looks like this.

Full Solstice package being delivered tomorrow. Hopefully all in one piece. I may be gone for a while, have lots of homework & research to do. I’ve also been wisely advised to be methodical and to my take my time with the setup procedure. First thing’s first - i will require another Fraim rack to go alongside my other one.

That’s really exciting @Stephen_Tate

I hope you find some decent chunks of time to get it set up and enjoy some quality listening time. When you are able, it would be fabulous to hear all about it!!

Sounds fun. What TT is ig replacing?

Hi, this is my first turntable since 2008. Before that I had a Rega P3 and before the Rega i had a few Technics 1210MK 2s in various guises, and also a few vintage Dual-505s. So I’ve not much experience here if I’m honest, well not in the high-end stakes any how. I’m rather bulldozing into new territory here :face_holding_back_tears::slightly_smiling_face:

It’s early days Ian. The CD player sounds very nice. Quite a warm sound which I am liking.

I’ve had the Nait50 some time playing vinyl through its phono stage and it’s pretty good.

Definitely worth considering. The half box width of the player was a particular appeal to me.

I think a new model of the CD50 is due so maybe some deals on the old version might be around.

Thanks ,

I have a Nait 50, and it is very good. My CD player is a venerable CDX 2.2 , I may want to replace it with a half box player with digital outputs

Best wishes
