Diy equipment support project coming up. It’ll be a simple adaptation of what I have courtesy of JA Michell large Tenderfeet and Shoe supports.

Tell us more GraemeH ATB Peter
Nothing too exciting Peter. I’ve sourced another av unit identical to the one I have to make additional isolated shelves and get my power supplies off the floor. This in preparation for the arrival of the 300.
I’ll take a before and after if anyone is interested.

An enjoyable late night vinyl listening session last night weakened me to order a PSX R2 power supply for my Cyrus Signature phono amp. Should be here on Tuesday.
New 552dr with my ndx2/555psdr/135s
Kudos Titan T88s
Initial impressions more open sound, more bass, treble and overall more real.
Only 3 hrs of use
It’s preloved and 1 yr old
Having fun

I couldn’t put it any better myself. That’s what 552 does better than 252.
I have an interesting crossover of Technology. I am looking to find the S Booster ps that FR spec’d for his setup. What I am doing is measuring noise in CMOS Astronomy Cameras, and have found that it improves with the use of an audiophile power supply compared to the wall warts that come with the cameras. No surprise here, as I suspected this based on our sound experience with low noise power supplies. I want to get an S Booster and try it out. I have already tried the HDPlex200. Do I need to specify caps, or anything else other than voltage and current to get the lowest noise. I am tempted to go Sean Jacobs also, but its a big bite to test.
May I recommend using Medium Density Overlaid plywood instead? Especially the Good Two Sides?
It’s all I use for commercial signage… it’s stable. Dense . Fabrication is less dusty { esp if using water jet to cut as I do) & much nicer to finish with veneers or paints.
Hi Bailyhill,
I bought one of these with the LT3045 regulators as an act of faith over the standard SMPS and use it for the Vortexbox music server. It would be interesting to know if your measurements show any benefit.
Best regards, BF
Still at planning stages, so possibly! I was going to go with Troels’s recommendation of 22mm Baltic Birch ply sides and black MDF (Valchromat I think) front panel. At this point though, I think it needs its own thread - if nothing else so my public commitment makes me go through with actually building them
Which design are you building??
I’m still prevaricating. I mocked up an Ellam Flex 2W cabinet in cardboard. They were bigger than I thought, fairly substantial stand mounts IMO, there’s 32mm of front baffle (actually 52mm extra!) in addition to that box too. From the front they don’t look all that much bigger than my Neats, but look at the difference from the top! Listening room is 3m x 3m, and am a bit concerned they’ll be too much. So Ellam 98 also an option. Not really sure how to decide which of those two at this point. Other than I think the Flex looks better X)
I’ll reply to you on the end of my speaker build thread so we don’t get too Off topic on this one.
We’ll after much back and forth and a swap to a mk3 I’ve finally settled on replacing my stageline with an Aria. The Mk3 is significantly
Better than the mk1 I tried previously - I always thought they were all the same just in different casework so maybe my first one was just a dud… much fuller sound than with the stageline… just need to give it all a bit of time to settle down again now….
How do you find this combination? Have you tried other headphones?
I think the Sennheisers are a good match. I was looking for a more neutral, analytical set of headphones, to keep the Naim sound without adding additional influences. They are certainly transparent, though still a bit bright and not yet fully engaging. But that might also be on the Atom HE end still.
No pictures I’m afraid. But just booked my UQ1 for a service and board update! Nice coffee and chat at TomTom audio too. ACR on a NDX/202/200/Motive SX1 sounded great too 8)
I fear the trip to collect my UQ1 when it’s ready might be associated with a larger bill than “just” the work on the 'Qute
