Hi all, seems like there’s no thread on the above mentioned subject, and posting in other threads may seems out of topic. Perhaps we have one so we can contribute and share experiences /thoughts etc on how the demo(s) goes , stay or go ?
I tried the Auva 50 (Spiked) on my Kudos Titan 606 loudspeakers.
Made a difference, but not enough of an improvement. The main gripe, for me, was that each foot has three spikes. Consequently, it made setting up a lot more difficult, than just a single spike in each corner.
The final nail in the coffin was Mrs DG, who did not like the look of them under the speakers at all. “Much more ugly, compared to the spikes”.
They went back to Stack Audio and the Track Audio spikes were re-installed.
I had demoed the D’Agostino on Monday , a 5 hours session. Have not get into all yet and in short it sound very very good and the most fluid sound I had listened to . Am still in the demo phase as I am working out the configuration on how I can apply to MIx it w the NC , should I retain the Prat that I love from naim. It will take some time to find the sweet spot .
A few pics of the demos .. this phase will take me quite some time to work it out . Firstly , it’s very expensive, secondly I would really love to mix them w the NCs,
I always advocate demos before purchase, preferably at home. However, I don’t always follow my own advice.
During Covid lockdown I decided to treat myself to a small system for my office: an Atom with Neat Iotas, but demos were then impossible so I just had to buy from the web. More recently I was intrigued by the enthusiasm for the Nait 50 and when the price fell low enough I jumped and bought online. Same with a Chord Qutest to go with it. Fortunately, that little system has proved a great success in my small office.
I still think demos are an essential part of purchasing hifi … for everyone else!
A Chord M Scaler with Naim CD5XS as source running into a Chord Hugo TT2. After a 2 week home trial, purchase of the M Scaler was a no-brainer for CD as the source. Not so convinced by streaming however, where the uplift was much nore marginal to my ears. Now have two Kimber coaxial cables on trial with the M Scaler and seeing how they break in compared to the in-box cables.
