What was the last bit of gear you didn’t buy in 2025?

I was struck by a terrible urge to change to a Luxman Centennial Edition limited edition set, looked absolutely stunning in black…….

However, the cost to change in light of current Naim p/x prices, etc. was just eye watering :joy:.

And then I was forced to consider what exactly I would be getting for the not inconsiderable cash outlay? Actually, probably not that much given that I really enjoy the Naim sound, and have pretty much maxed out my present NC system. So, once again the change for changes sake filter came into effect and deciding to continue to enjoy what I have spent not inconsiderable time and effort to assemble just made the most, if not only, sense.

NAC 552, but goodness it was a close run thing🫣
Instead, I invested in upgrades for both the LP12’s and a Uniti Core to replace the AL 7000 CDT. Very happy with the route taken.

I was thinking of changing speakers, since I have had the Harbeths for a long time. But then I realized I would have to spend a lot to upgrade, and some of the speakers I was looking at would only be a lateral move. More importantly, after some reflection I realize I still enjoy the way the Harbeths sound.

I haven’t bought any new bits for slightly over a year now. Any changes major I do make are likely to be extremely expensive so changes are not planned at the moment.

Indeed, exactly as I discovered……..

Do you like the 300 series? I am starting out with the 332, 333, 250, NVC TT— but without the power supplied. I hope it will be a significant upgrade beyond my SN3 and NDX2/XPS. My stuff should be delivered within the next fes weeks.

I can’t answer the question before 1 Jan. 2026.

I love the 300 series gear that I have. I am a long-time Naim owner and after downsizing to a uniti some years ago I waited for the 222 to upgrade to. I soon traded that in for my current kit after adding the NVC TT to my 222. I think the 332/333/250 is a fabulous system. Personally, I prefer the 250 over the 350, which I feel gives a slightly overblown voicing but I know many see it as un upgrade to the 250. As I was sticking with my NC250 and already had a NPX300, I added an extra NPX300 when I upgraded due to getting a great deal on it but the 332/333 sounds very good without the power supplies, it just sounds better with.

Thanks so much. If I could only do one NPX300, would it be for the 322 or 333? If I got the PS for both units, I could not do one for the phono stage. How important is one for the phono stage?

I have power supplies for each.
When I tried the 332/333 with only one NPX300 I thought it sounded best with it on the 333. Other though have thought it is better on the 332, I think you would need to try it out. I have always listened to the NVC with the NPX, so can’t comment about the impact of the PS. There have been posts about this and the consensus I recall is that the NPXTT is a worthwhile upgrade. If I were in your position I would buy without power supplies. Then buy a PS for your main source first, a second source next and eventually one for the 332. My dealer though was of the view if your main source is the TT, then put the 300 on the 332. Someone I know has the 332/333 without power supplies and is very happy with them as are a fair few forum members.

My main source will be the 333.

I would get an NPX for the 333 first and then get one for the 332. The NVC will benefit from the upgraded PS on the 332. If money allows at a later date, then get the NPXTT. One of the many good bits about the NC range is that all the pre-amps and streamers can work with or without a PS. I was in the fortunate position where I could afford all 3 power supplies but they are not essential.

Thank you!

Have you considered it for your next Master Innovation ?

Being an active system, it features extremely sensitive piezoelectric sensors, which detect even the smallest vibrations. An all-analog electronic control circuit generates the required compensation forces. It was possible to minimize distortions and noise floor

Chord Music installed , Din / RCA.
Not first a wow moment but more time I listened, more I realised its strengths. It grows on you. Hidden and important details previously hidden. The vocals are richer, subtle inllexions of the voices are more apparent.
And I listened only 1 hour. ( comparing with Chord signature).

You know this is the DIDN’T BUY thread?

It’s interesting that you bring this up. The Lyra distributor in the U.S. has picked up the Seismion line, and wants me to try a demo. It’s very expensive, and way out of my budget.

Completely unsurprising that there would be confusion, if members don’t double check twice. I think this thread is named poorly (and doesn’t really make sense to me as named anyway, thus my initial comment).
