What's the power usege of an idle 555PS DR with an NDX2

Wanted to get in done in case he retires

Funny you say that…was my reason for thinking about doing it slightly early. Plus my 2013 282.

If you need to ask, you can’t afford Naim :sunglasses::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Following my plug in tester, it measures 22.5 when quiescent with a PF of 0.6
(Strangely thats 1.7Watts less than my XPS measures when I last tested it - I didn’t test them side by side, or on the same day, so may not be comparing like for like)

When NPX2 is running, the usage only increases by 0.1Watts - so negligible.

Thanks, interesting

Remember also this is straight back from a service

Reminds me of a comment SWMBO made when we went up to 7 boxes.

She commented it was a similar uplift to me moving in my tropical fish tank.

So not irrelevant.

But she loves watching baby fish grow.
And she loves music (and her iPhone friendly NDX2).

Problem solved.

We did look at electricity consumption when we listened to 333/332/350. Payback over a lifetime

absolutely, knowing the total consumptions was enough, more than happy with the upside of having such a great system - I just see it as part of the cost of ownership

We always took the view that given the cost of the hardware the consumption was incidental.

Similar to the service costs on a car etc.

Something to be considered, but given the initial outlay ultimately of little consequence.
