When HiFi goes to die

I had the 46D paired with Pioneer SA500A amp and Phillips speakers.

Very posh! 5 sliding controls (instead of two)! :grinning: They did like to ‘layer the models’ with small differences!

Hmmm - what’s the fifth middle slider on the 46D for?

I’ve also realised the 41D had a proprietary noise reduction system, whereas the one I remember definitely had Dolby (B). It looked identical apart from that - anyone know what the model number was?

This may answer your question.

Afraid not - it’s not got the three ‘traffic’ lights and it’s got one fader too many. The picture of the 41D I posted looks absolutely identical, apart from the NR difference. It’s quite odd that they seem to have made two decks which were identical save for that one issue.

They usually ended up as a pile rust before the scrapyard, Recycled sardine tins
