Had not considered using WiFi. Our SuperUniti (home office system) empties buffer and drops playing some DSF files. 272 in the lounge has always been on Ethernet.
However the NDX2 uses modern WiFi protocols and has a much bigger buffer so should not have any issues.
Is there any forum lore on whether Ethernet is definitely preferred to WiFi? Our WiFi is quite busy with laptops, phones, tablets and various other devices. Also a network scan picks up various routers from nearby properties (although not at any great network strength)
A good modern WiFi network should be reliable, but the very dated WiFi modules in the 1st gen Naim streamers, coupled with the very small buffer which was never intended to cope with internet traffic, make it hit and miss for many users.
When they were current products this forum was awash with threads from users who were tearing their hair out with networking issues.
