Same experience here. NAC A5 and Chord Epic sound rather close to each other, not a big difference between the two but Chord Signature XL sounds noticeably different and better than both. I now have the Chord Signature XL in my system while both NAC A5 and Epic were sold several years ago.

Have tested audioquest robin hood, chord signature and sarum t. The AQ had too much bass in my system. Preferred the sarum over the signature, more detail and refined voices. Did all the testing at home and think that it is the best way to determine what suits your system and ears best.

Ciao Max, ā€˜KISSā€™ is keep it simple (stupid).
Simple cables, simple basic 2x conductors.
Stupid is litz, woven or added networks.

Thanks for the information. Could you kindly expand in what ways the Sarum T is more detailed than the Signature XL. Is it more refined and extended in the treble, or there is more detail, texture or layering in the bass etc. Thanks.
