That is an interesting comment. We purchased our apartment 34 years ago when real estate in NYC was still relatively affordable. We have a view of the bridges and the East river which, to us, is more important than HiFi.
It is very difficult for young persons in NYC who want to purchase a flat, as I would assume is the case in many areas of the UK.
Thanks. Itās a big compliment for the Music. It surely fits your top quality 552DR/500DR though Iām not sure if it would be equally at home with lesser systems. I think @garcon also has Music speaker cables with his modest Supernait 3.
I would need to strike a lottery to own the Music speaker cables. Joke aside, length of cables is a crucial factor as the cost rises exponentially with increased length. I used to have a 4m pair Signature XL in my system but settled with 2.5m pair of Sarum T as the cost is prohibitive with longer cables. So, as a result, I need to rearrange the placement of speakers from the short wall to long wall which also require the rearrangement of the rack and furniture. Luckily for me, the new setup sounds a lot better than the previous arrangement so the improved sound quality is not entirely due to the new Sarum T.
I donāt think Iāll be able to justify the cost of the Music if buying new, and even though used itās already quite expensive. Having said that, if a used pair of Music comes up at some point in the future, weāll see.
I completely understand, when I first got the Sarums it was almost down to the cm to be able to afford them. Fortunately I didnāt need anything like 5m though.
Interestingly (or not), one of the times I compared Sarum T with Music was using a Supernait 3. The differences were quite clear and it was amazing to hear just how good the Supernait could sound. Not a typical pairing but now and again there are some great s/h offers available.
As an aside, I tried a Music mains lead with my Headline/NAPSC a little while back and it was a revelation. Youād never do it of course butā¦
Not quite 10 meters, but i have 2x8.5 meter runs of EpicX in my system. I suspect there are actually plenty of people on here that use long runs of speaker cable.
Yes, I did use the ChordMusic with my SN3 previously, now with the 222-250, same Martens. Of course, itās about the relationship between all that comes from the electronics and the speakers. Should mention it sounds really special with my Nait 50 instead of the NC250 as well.
I think indeed their best description may be what you mention about removing the hifi-ness and even the need to explain the improvement in hifi terms.
Luckily, I didnāt need long speaker cables for my main setup so as an ex-demo or some sort of similar offer mine came in relatively (well, almost:) proportionate.
What about the New stuff? Iām thinking if you had a pair of the mono 350ās and 332 preamp that longer interconnects with the monos close to the speakers
I have 350s and 332 and my system is between the speakers. I could literally run 1.5M speaker cables which might let me afford chord Music instead of 2.5M Signature XL. Thoughts?
I would observe that very definitive statement perhaps applies in your experience, however, there are others who may have exactly the opposite view. Those others may also have measurements to back up their experience.
