Which whisky are you drinking and why someone else might enjoy it?

Not a real whiskey but tonight is nice glass of Makers Mark - my favourite Bourbon. So smooth.

Been enjoying a few bottles of this recently too. Great value at £25 (reduced from £40) via Amazon, very drinkable.

Signatory Vintage 100 proof Benrinnes 13yo. Sherried so very rich and smooth, a not too punchy easy drinker.

Saw this at work and thought…why not?
A new distillery on Skye (one of only two on the island, apparently)…

Torabhaig
Allt Gleann
Distilled and casked 2017 & 2018.

“Smoke & brine” appealed, though on the first glass it’s not quite there yet for me: I generally like to leave a new bottle, once opened, to ‘bed’ in… I’ll be coming back to it as it’s very pleasant and highly drinkable. I’ll watch the distillery’s development with interest.

Mrs R took me to Manchester for the footie this weekend (City not United). It’s my 65th Birthday today.

This morning she brightly announced that she was taking me shopping. Oh joy (not), she wants to buy me some trousers! To my great surprise, she took me to the Whisky Shop to choose a bottle. I went for Arran 10 year old which I have not tried before…

I said we had to try it before we went home, just in case there was something wrong with it. Gladly, it is very appealing.
