I’ve just had a bottle of the 21 year old Grand Reserve. I was given it as a birthday present. Beyond smooth but comes at a ridiculous cost!
It was a good friends wedding anniversary yesterday and we decided to finish the evening off with something very special and opened this…
Very special as it comes with a royal seal of approval!
Ahem…where do you live again

You’d always be welcome D
Bless ya! Be careful what you wish for, @Darkebear & myself might come a knocking!!
I prefer no more than a lightly peated dram and usually sherry forward over bourbon or port with fruit notes without being overtly sweet ( I do enjoy my funky Springbank 10 though). This Tamdhu 15 like the Glenlivet 18 ticks my boxes
Just about the perfect dram IMO. The sherry casks balance out the peat (which I only really noticed in the finish) and other darker notes. Great price on Amazon right now. I’m stocking up by ordering a second bottle ![]()
At £153? Just checking!
Martin
Right. But I couldn’t find it for less than £170 anywhere else.
It is a great whisky, but difficult to get hold of hence the uplift in cost, RRP is around £75.
I noticed that price on the Springbank site C. Lovely dram though right? I keep my intake down to 14 units a week max. Not easy with bottles like this in my cupboard ![]()
Yes it’s a great whisky. I’m quite fortunate that I’m only 3 hrs away from Campbeltown so can visit a couple of times a year to get my fix of Springbank. ![]()
Gulp.
Er…sip…
Outside my finances, for sure.
I haven’t been able to find any Springbank in NZ, not even duty free ![]()

Hence the high prices that suppliers are asking Mike ![]()
