Dear Richard,
I’m interested in the bottle you opened by your anniversary…:wink:

A 2006 Henri de Villamont Nuits Saint Georges. OK, but I felt it should been rather better than it actually was, so ultimately rather disappointing.

Sorry to hear that.

Other opportunities for better bottles. :+1:

What vintage Richard? We have the 2016 in Mag for NYE that was on special so I am hoping it is in a good place.

It was the non-vintage.

A nice glass of chateau la pompe which Is such a delight compared to the city water…

Great burgundy wine is truly a delight. Unfortunately we had a few disappointments from what we bought from a 4 day tour in 2013 from Gevry Chambertin to Santenay. Then again some nice ones as well, especially with some very nice epoisses or délice de bourgogne…

Smith and Sheth Mangatahi Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2018
Kinda funky Chardonnay from100% indigenous malolactic fermentation. Appropriate as “Get up off a that thing” playing in background at the winery. Very good.

Something nice and simple.

Ingredients added: some garlic, some of the wine that we had with it and a splash of kirsch. Delicious

2013 Ciclope from Candialle.
(Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese)
A great Tuscany wine.

Probably my favourite wine-partner for a nicely grilled steak.

Cheers and all the best for 2022.
