Just wondering @Richard.Dane do we need this thread closing and a 2026 version created, if it doesn’t exist already?
It’s not a regular thread, this one, but I’m sure a 2026 will come in time, possibly later in the year - after all, January is only two days old and I doubt there’s much interest in knowing that I (or indeed the vast majority, maybe all here) have not bought any new kit so far in 2026.

Fair comment, as a suggestion how about a title change to ‘who didn’t buy any new kit in 2025’?
As the thread starter, I expect the thread will die a natural death in a couple of months.
As for repeating it, well, it was started as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek post, as a space for people to share their happiness with their system or their restraint in not upgrading or changing anything. I am not sure that I will do another, and if I do, it would be slightly different. To be honest, I was a bit surprised that so many people posted in it.
It was a great idea and is an excellent thread and there should be a 2026 version although I do agree with Richard that it is a bit pointless 2 days into 2026.

Next year, maybe in June, you can open « who hasn’t upgraded since 2 years « , or « who is the longest in time member with no upgrades », with a poll.
For example @Mike-B has not upgraded since many years. Or I am wrong.

Correct, I haven’t changed any of my front end, I’ve done a lot of back end & experiments, but only resulting in a few actual changes.
Too much other stuff going on. Eventually I will sell off, downsize the house and go for a second and final retirement with a streamer-preamp & active speakers.
But don’t think I’ve been inactive, this is not the place to talk about it.

Nothing to take seriously here. I would like to be at your place, but my doctor can’t cure my upgraditis disease unfortunately.
Hi FR, yes it’s nice place to be when not stressed with upgraditis.
Truth be told, since retirement from my old work life, I’ve never been so busy with my new life projects.
However I’m on a break for the next month and I’ve promised myself not to even think about audio ….. but stuff happens with idle minds and ….. the TV needed to be sorted, it’s far to complicated for what we need with outdated redundant stuff.
So today was a big strip out day, all dismantled, spiders and dust removed, boxes removed, surplus wires removed and new simpler (very simple) wire hookup. Last month I installed a new aerial and is now the correct group since 4G & 5G introductions.
Tomorrow it’s the audio stack time, early spring clean, remove dust and spider detritus, service/clean/tidy cables and complete the FM aerial project.
Who needs upgraditis ? ? ? 
when you are a tidy cable freak.

A free upgrade for sound quality. Specially after cleaning the contacts.
