Who hasn't bought any new kit in 2026 yet?

I can not recall purchasing any new kit for the last couple of years.

As mentioned above by another member I have been toying with idea of picking up a CD transport or player for an occasional change of pace. Who knows maybe 2026 will be the year I open the wallet one again.

…or maybe not…

I am quite happy with my system which I put into place prior to my retirement and have been enjoying it for the past four plus years.

I got my Atom HE, PMC Twenty5 23i‘s, Focal Clear Mg and Celestee’s in 2024. Very happy with the setup and no plans for change.

Interesting, thanks for the feedback!

Spent a lot in the last ten years but downsized to a flat and ended up with Atom HE and cans, with a Muso for joint listening (partner def not audiophile but loves music). Never thought I wold be happy where I am now but really pretty content. No intention to upgrade and I cannot really lower my box count. :slightly_smiling_face:

Big amp change in 2025 from 282/supercap/250DR to Chord Ultima pre 3 and Ultima 6 power. Plus Solid Steel racks and Chord Epic X interconnects. It all sounds wonderfull IMHO.

Keep thinking about changing the front end of NDX2/XPS but I doubt this will happen in 2026. It would take lots of ££££s to better this combo, so is it worth it?

No new kit here since Jan 25. That was it for me and I have been solely concentrating on listening or music since. Happy days!

I haven’t, and don’t expect to. No change in kit since 2023: electronics and speakers are keepers until they or I or my ears fail, hopefully another 20-30 years though the streaming front end may need changing earlier. However, having recently moved home i have a lot to do to optimise my listening room, though that isn’t normally referred to as “kit”.

Main system will be once again nothing, just like the last few years and probably the next few to come as well. As no reason to change anything.

The second system, can’t see any changes with that either, as i started off with a wiim ultra into my muso, then change stuff like speakers, amp, but have now gone back to the wiim and muso again, its more than good enough and staying as it is, as tried it and decided it was a no.

If anything i might try and sell some kit i dont need or use these days.

Replaced two Hicaps with a Supercap on my 82. Wasn’t expecting to much of a difference but was surprised on how much it improved.

Late 2025 I decided to sell my unitilite and Nap200dr to buy a Unitinova until fate stepped in and the CD stopped working. After an awful lot of deliberation I contacted my local Naim dealer P&A audio Southport and they in turn contacted Naim and yes they had everything they needed to repair CD and service the unitilite. Some weeks later I received it back and set it up and settled down to listen…..well I guess that I wasn’t “blown away” at the first listen. Three days later I’m sitting reading with music in the background and Dave Edmunds I hear you knocking is playing and it’s sounding very different. The music is filling the room with different guitar sounds so next up midnight rider Glenn Alman and again the keyboard just amazing.

Who knew that the demise of the CD player would actually come to be the best thing to happen.

Sorry Paul,
Nothing new here either in 2025 or 2026 apart from cds and vinyl…

Maybe soon, subject to a windfall or lottery win. Otherwise, we’ll just have to keep on enjoying music.

Best regards, BF

Nothing and nothing planned.
