Who was the man before Steve Sells

Sorry if I I have mixed Sells and Sell mixed up, just was wondering who was the main design chap before Steve and where is it now?

Roy George was last involved in the Kudos active crossover, and of course the Naim Solstice turntable.

Is he the one responsible for the 500 series and then Steve Sells only from Statement and Uniti onwards?

In most cases it’s impossible to say that any Naim product is or was the design of just one person as it always involves a team of people, and the contributions of Gary Crocker, Paul Neville, Simon Matthews and many others (not to mention the software team who make all the hardware bits “work”) in the R&D team cannot be under appreciated. However, Roy was head of R&D for many years and led the designs of many Naim products up to (and even beyond) his retirement.

Agree :ok_hand: A head of can very well be the mastermind in taking a team to their best. But a head of is also nothing without a great team. Great products will never be a one man show so everyone making it happen should take credit when stars align and they create something special

It’s no coincidence that almost all of my equipment is fundamentally Roy George designs. I just love the sound that he created from HiFi. Has it been improved upon? It’s all subjective isn’t it?
