Why naim support so late for replying email?

Unfortunately none of that applies. No auto-acknowledgements bar for my beta testing email. That gave a date by which to expect a reply. No reply ever came. I sent a follow up to query and… nothing.

Two of the other emails were sent during a period when a number of forum members were saying they’d a sense nothing was getting through and that turned out to be the case. We were invited to resend but when we did so I think the success rate was poor again. The email issue was obviously fixed but there was no further follow up.

Afraid nothing makes it into my junk folder without having my eyes on it immediately.

As I say, any email to support will, at the very least, automatically send out an acknowledgement and a ticket number. If that is not arriving then either the incoming or outgoing email is being blocked somewhere or somehow. When this seems to be happening with forum notifications to a particular member (usually at sign up) then I can let our web dev. know and usually he can fix it, so it’s worth letting Naim know just in case, so they can get their IT got do likewise.

A good while ago now. Measured in years rather than weeks or months.

After received the email unfortunately naim support said they are no longer offer the support for old model of CD player :sob:

It seem my CDP will going to a trash bin :sob::sob:

While unfortunate, all that means is that Naim can no longer support your CD5xs themselves, mainly because replacement mechs have long been difficult and their supplies are now exhausted. Of course there are all sorts of VAM1202 mech available out there, it’s just you don’t really know what you’re going to get. Not so long ago, Naim were having to rebuild the ones they had in stores - effectively trying to get one good mech from a number of unknowns, which is obviously not sustainable.

So, as an alternative, you could look at one of a number of “kitchen table” repairers out there and see what they can do. Obviously I can’t give any recommendations out on this forum, but if you do some research then I’m sure you’ll come up with some options. Just see what sort of warranty they are willing to give on any repair though and maybe better if they are able to fit a scavenged second hand mech rather than one of the “new” ones out there, which mostly seem to be rubbish. Smaller 3rd party repairers can be far more flexible and could keep your player going for longer before the inevitable.

Idle speculation on my part but I doubt there are too many Naim “kitchen repairers” in Indonesia.

I think it may be an ex-parrot at this stage.

I don’t really know what’s available in Indonesia, but I’m sure there have been CD players sold there over the decades, so there may well be someone out there able to effect a repair and keep it going as all it may need is a replacement VAM1202 mechanism or even just a 1202 laser head.

Edit: having just done a quick online search myself, I see a number of possibilities worth exploring in Jakarta.
