Is it really? That surprises me, because both performance-wise and sonically the 250DR is nothing like a 300DR.

I see no contradiction here. All power amps, in essence, are designed and made in a quite similar way. Naim is (or was) very big about separation that brought such great sonic resultsā¦ I am not suprised that 300 being a totally separated version of 250 is a different beast. Well, please mind what difference a few springs make in NDS or 552 (let alone S1). 
OK, but they are still very different regarding performance and sound.

How are they different then? What I said is not something I came up with, Iām basically quoting a Naim employee.
Please tell us about your upgrade from 250DR to 300DR, and how itās really nothing more than a separation into two boxes. Apparently you have a different experience with it than others of us who went through that very same upgrade.
I simply stated the fact that the 250DR is essentially the same as the 300DR split into two boxes, and thatās from what Naim has posted here, please donāt shoot the messenger. This subject has also been discussed here more than once.
I donāt know where the confusion comes from, but I havenāt commented about SQ, or said anything about upgrading or having any first hand experience with these amplifiers. A 300DR is on my list though, it should be a nice step up from my 200DR. The 250DR is IMV too much of a compromised design, and Iāll skip it altogether.

The tech underlying the 250DR and 300DR is the same. Same power transistors.
The differences are in the separation; of power supply to each channel via burndy, the fact each DIN to XLR carries only one channel, more āspaceā for each mono board, enhanced cooling - and importantly 90W vs the 250DR 80W.
We upgraded from 250DR to 300DR whilst keeping same speakers.
Whilst the amps share the same tech, the 300DR is substantially better - more control, better clarity of complex mixes, tighter bass, ability to go louder with no harshness. Listening at low levels improves loads. We also use our system for TV and the improvement there was an unexpected bonus.
Sums it up perfectly.

3 days on letās answer the OPs question. The NAP300 will improve everything, assuming of course the rest of the system is up to it, and in that context those Dyns will love it.

It seems to be mostly pros about the 300DR.
In my post, I mention my setup with my current 250DR, and that it sounds excellent.
Lindsay, do you think the 300 fits nicely into the food chain? However, I have also received other friendly suggestions for improvements, but these involved more boxes, which I try to avoid as much as possible. I have no doubt that my Dyns will handle a 300

Simple answer yes. Although I was never as evangelical about the 272 as some nonetheless it is a sweet sounding box, particularly with that 555, and even will partner a 500. And whilst the typical partner for the 300 is a 252 or 552 (I tell you the latter is truly sublime) itās a flexible thing and sits very comfortably with a 282/HC, so yes it will fit very nicely. With regard to Dyns although I understand the latest variants are slightly less demanding than the older versions they still prefer strong articulate amplification, as I say they will soak up everything the 300 will send them, in fact I can almost feel now how enthralling it will sound.

It is a dealer in another country, so it is difficult for me to listen to the system first. The dealer says that everything is original and has not been serviced yet. My question is, what needs to be serviced on a DR system? I mean, is it really necessary after 10 years on such an expensive high-end system? I have heard that some people think servicing is necessary after 15-20 years.
As far as I know itās the caps and stuff that need to be replaced for optimised performance but thereās load of Naim amps out there running quite beautifully without servicing, it will be fine!

As I said, I am considering purchasing a complete 300DR from 2016.
I cannot find the overview of what should be included in the original boxes for the 300DR and 300PS. Iām thinking about Burndy and XLR cables, powerlineā¦?
