Seconded for “At this moment in time” also.

I think this kind of phrasing is meant to imbue the speaker with some kind of authority or expertise.
It doesn’t.

When watching movies etc, whenever they come out with the phrase “look at me” when speaking to someone.

It seems to be a default phrase built into most films… Plain lazy!

Offering up “Congratulations “ when someone has opened their wallet and bought some expensive item of hifi/car/watches etc. Now if they had designed or made the item in question, well that might be appropriate.
